Bud Peterson

After 43 years of teaching history and English, I retired last spring. I spent the last 31 years at Eastlake. During my teaching career, I've coached basketball, baseball, fastpitch, and tennis. I grew up in Southern California and played high school basketball and competed in USTA tournaments through high school. I started coaching the boys' and girls' varsity teams at Eastlake in 1996. I stepped away from coaching tennis from 2002 to 2006 while my children attended high school, returning in 2007. I resigned from girls' tennis after the 2023 season. Working with students outside of the classroom in an athletic environment has allowed me to mentor students who face demanding academic pressures while helping young players develop their tennis skills and personal confidence.

I teach Special Education here at Eastlake, specifically Algebra and English. This is my 13th year at Eastlake. I coach both boys' and girls' tennis, with eight years coaching boys and five years coaching girls. Tennis has been a great outlet and allows me to meet students and players I don't have in class. Our program has grown greatly over the past few years, and I am excited and proud that I get to lead these players.

Cameron Miller

Hi! I'm Cameron Miller, one of the JV coaches at Eastlake. I've coached boys' and girls' tennis at EHS for five years, after one season coaching at Lake Washington and three years of badminton. I've also been a school counselor for 12 years. I grew up playing tennis and still love getting on the court with family and friends and working to improve my game!

As well as guiding the players to advance their skills in this great lifelong game, I aim to help each player grow in confidence and maturity.

Lily Cortes

Hello! I'm Lily Cortes, and I'm excited to be starting my sixth year at Eastlake! I am a Special Education teacher and currently teach Study Skills, Credit Recovery, and 11th Grade English. This is my second year coaching both boys' and girls' tennis, and it has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the job. I have loved getting to know so many students and watching their confidence and skills grow throughout the season.
